Options Scanner โ How to Use
A free options screener: pick a universe of stocks and a strategy, and it returns tradable suggestions โ strikes/legs, probability of profit (POP) or delta, net credit/debit from the live option chain, and a confidence score.
Open it: tickersrank.ai/options-scanner
What it is not: it is not a buy/sell signal, not a prediction, and not financial advice. It surfaces candidate structures that fit the rules you pick โ you always verify strikes, liquidity, and risk before trading.
Three steps
- Stock List โ choose which universe of names to scan (or type your own tickers).
- Strategy โ choose the option structure (wheeling, spreads, time spreads, 0DTE index structures, or a futures signal).
- Inputs โ set DTE, Target (POP % or delta), and โ where it applies โ the Call/Put Side. Press Scan (or just change any input โ it re-scans automatically).
Stock Lists (universes)
| List | What's in it |
|---|---|
| Leaders | The strongest up-trending names in the ranked universe (S&P 500 โช Nasdaq-100). Almost always bullish โ that's how they're selected. |
| Decliners | The weakest names (most negative relative strength) โ a confirmed-weakness screen. Bearish side. |
| Mid-Cap Movers | Full-universe slice filtered to market cap $2โ10B and price $30โ150, ranked by biggest move. Built for small accounts doing cheap debit/credit trades. |
| Reversion | Oversold / mean-reversion candidates. |
| User inputs | Type your own tickers (e.g. AAPL, NVDA, SPX). Index strategies also let you aim at NDX/QQQ/RUT/etc. |
Each result shows the symbol's market cap (on the card, and as a column in the list view).
Strategies
Grouped credit โ debit โ structured โ directional.
| Strategy | Type | Default DTE | Default target | Side |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Long Call / Put | debit | 120 (LEAPs OK, up to ~3y) | delta (LEAP โฅ365d โ 0.75, shorter โ ~0.65) | Auto / Call / Put |
| Wheeling CSP | credit | 45 | 78% POP | put (sell a cash-secured put; assignment โ you own stock) |
| Covered Call | credit | 30 | 80% POP | call (own 100 shares โ sell a call for income) |
| Jade Lizard | credit | 45 | 75% POP | short put + short call spread; enough credit โ no upside risk, one-sided below the put |
| Covered Strangle | credit | 30 | 75% POP | own 100 sh + sell an OTM put AND call (double premium; extra risk = the short put โ may own 200 sh) |
| Short Strangle | credit | 45 | 80% POP | naked short put + short call (undefined risk both sides); manage ~21 DTE, take 15โ50% |
| Credit spread | credit | 30 | 78% POP | Auto / Call / Put |
| Debit spread | debit | 14 | 0.75 delta | Auto / Call / Put |
| PMCC | debit | 180 | 0.75 delta | call (long LEAP + short near call) |
| Diagonal | debit | 10 short / 21 long | 80% POP | Auto / Call / Put |
| Calendar | debit | 5 short / 10 long | 80% POP | Auto / Call / Put |
| Iron Condor | credit | 0 (SPX) | 80% POP | both (short put spread + short call spread) |
| Iron Butterfly | credit | 0 (SPX) | 60% POP | both (short ATM straddle + wings) |
| Butterfly | debit | 30 (leaders) | wing auto (โ0.75% of spot) | both |
| Broken Wing Butterfly | credit | 30 (leaders) | wing auto (โ0.75% of spot) | both |
| Futures (Long/Short) | directional | โ | โ | directional signal, not an option |
Wheeling CSP and Covered Call are the two halves of "the wheel" and are free. The rest are Pro (see Free vs Pro below).
The inputs
- DTE โ days to expiration of the (short) leg. The scanner snaps to a real listed expiration.
- Target โ the knob that shapes the strike:
- For credit / POP strategies it's Target POP % (probability the short expires out-of-the-money). Higher POP โ strike further out-of-the-money โ smaller credit, safer. Changing it moves the strikes.
- For debit / long strategies it's Target delta (how deep the long leg sits).
- Side (shown for Credit spread, Debit spread, Diagonal, Calendar) โ Auto / Call / Put:
- Auto picks the side from the name's trend (EMA stack).
- Call / Put forces the option type. The direction differs by strategy โ Debit/Diagonal/Calendar: Call = bullish, Put = bearish; Credit spread: Call = the bearish call-credit (above price), Put = the bullish put-credit (below price).
- Each result labels its direction, e.g.
ยท call (bear)orยท put (bull).
- Count โ how many suggestions to return.
Reading a result
- Ticker + company + market cap
- Strikes / legs (and a copyable contract code)
- POP (credit strategies) or Delta (debit)
- Credit / Debit โ the net, priced from the live option chain (per 1 lot, ร100)
- Confidence โ a blended score (POP/structure quality + the name's rank)
Click a card to open a price chart with the strikes drawn on it (short legs green = where you collect, long legs red = the protection/wing), plus the current spot. For Futures the chart shows the signal's Entry / Stop / Target instead.
Futures mode
Futures is not an options structure โ it's a directional Long / Short read off a live price-action engine (the same engine the Session-Stacker bot trades), computed on the last closed bar of the chosen timeframe. Controls:
- SFP / SMC โ the base structure engine (swing-failure + market-structure). On by default.
- UT Bot + LRC โ an optional trend-continuation engine; run it with SFP/SMC or alone.
- Timeframe (3m/5m/15m/30m) and Target R (the reward multiple).
Each tile shows side, Entry/Stop/Target, the prevailing bias, and session/structure/VWAP gates. It reads
the dated front-month contract (e.g. /ESZ26), so the levels match a real tradable series.
How the numbers are produced
- Strike placement is a transparent model: Target POP โ an out-of-the-money distance (a lognormal approximation), calibrated so the default POP reproduces a sensible strike. Change the POP and the strike moves.
- Net credit/debit is priced from the live chain (Tradier โ Schwab โ TradeStation, the same engine Strikers uses) using mid prices. After hours it falls back to the day's close (indicative, not tradable).
- Calendar / Diagonal are time spreads that span two expirations โ each leg is priced at its own expiry and netted into a real debit. (PMCC also spans two expirations and is currently shown structurally without a live net.)
- POP / delta for the delta-selected strategies (wheeling, iron condor) come from the chain's own greeks; for the geometric strategies they are illustrative until the full chain engine prices every leg.
Honesty note: POP is a model estimate, not a guarantee. Multi-leg and after-hours fills can slip more than the indicative mid shown here. Always confirm on your broker's chain before trading.
Free vs Pro
The scanner is freemium:
- Free (anonymous or Basic): Wheeling CSP + Covered Call โ the full wheel.
- Pro ($50/mo): every strategy (spreads, PMCC, diagonal, calendar, the SPX 0DTE structures, and futures).
- During the free-preview window everything is unlocked for everyone so you can try it; after that the Pro gate turns on.
Under the hood (for the curious)
Strategy structures come from a shared, standalone library (option_structures.py) โ the same
leg/strike definitions power the scanner today and the structure bots next, so the website and the bots
can't drift apart. Strike selection is geometric/POP-driven in the library; a bot can pass real delta- or
credit-selected strikes into the same shapes without changing any caller.
